OKC’s Paseo named as one of America’s “10 Great Neighborhoods for 2010”

The Paseo District of Oklahoma CityIt’s always fun to see your city recognized on a national level, and we in OKC are no stranger to that these days, but it’s extra-special to see a small, specific area or neighborhood get national recognition as a stand-out.

Such is the case with OKC’s popular Paseo District. The American Planning Association named the neighborhood among their “2010 Great Places in America.” Their website describes The Paseo as:

A bustling artists’ colony before neglect and blight nearly destroyed it, The Paseo is today one of Oklahoma City’s more coveted addresses. Its colorful bungalows attract residents seeking homes with character, its art galleries, restaurants, and shops draw residents and visitors alike, and its commercial area — historic Spanish Village with Spanish Mission Revival-styled buildings, stucco exteriors and red-tile roofs — brings professionals and businesses desiring a place close to downtown yet with a different vibe.
