Out & About: Oklahoma City Seafood Spots

A lot has been going since I started here at ShowMeOKC, both in and out of the office.  Our latest venture for our team meeting lunch was at Fish City Grill in Edmond. It was such a delicious experience, it made me very eager to try some more of Oklahoma’s seafood spots.

Next, I made my way to the Steak and Catfish Barn in East Edmond, which I first heard about when it was featured on the Travel Channel’s popular TV series, Man vs. Food. I ordered just what the name told me I should, steak and catfish. Granted, I had never tried catfish before I moved out to OKC (crazy, I know), but I think it’s safe to say that this place did it right. I plan on returning after I work on my competitive eating skills to see how I measure up in their yearly “Top Cat” challenge, where fellow Oklahomans duke it out to see who can eat the most fried catfish strips in one sitting! The largest record so far from 2009 was 45 pieces of catfish…but now that ShowMeOKCkaci has a newfound love for catfish, this record holder had better watch out.

What’s your all time favorite seafood spot in the area? Leave me a comment below so I can try it out!

I'm the newest member of the ShowMeOKC Team and I'm so excited to be here! I moved countless times throughout the country in my 25 years before I stumbled upon Oklahoma City and found the place I wanted to call home. I love this city and want to show everyone else why they should love it as well!
I like food…yes, all food, and enjoy doing anything outdoors; hiking, camping, swimming, fishing…you name it! I also have the greatest parents and the coolest little brother a girl could ask for!
